Description of the apartment on the ground floor

The ground floor apartment is approx. 85 m² in size and suitable for 4 people. It has a spacious bedroom with a double bed and an additional sofa bed. The living room with a view of the water is equipped with a high-quality sofa bed. Here you will also find a cosy dining area for up to 5 people. The completely renovated bathroom with shower has a washing machine. The living room has a modern flat-screen TV. The kitchen-diner with dining area is equipped with a dishwasher, ceramic hob, oven, microwave and all the kitchen utensils you need for self-catering. The kitchen has access to the terrace, which is furnished with garden furniture. When the weather is cooler, we recommend using the newly designed conservatory. When the weather is pleasant, you can enjoy our garden with sunbathing lawn and beach chairs, which is shared by the tenants of both flats. From here, you have a wonderful view of the Schlei and the evening sunset!

Enjoy your holiday at any time of year. Our powerful heating system will ensure that your holiday home remains a cosy hub for your activities, even in the cooler months. In spring and autumn, the landscape along the Schlei river has a special charm. Hiking and cycling are often more pleasant during these seasons than in midsummer. And after a lovely autumn or winter walk in the fresh sea air, a strong Frisian tea or grog tastes all the better in a warm parlour.

Getting around

How to find us

By car you will certainly arrive via the A7. At the Schleswig Schuby exit take the B 201 in the direction of Kappeln. Shortly after entering Kappeln, turn onto the B 199 at the large junction in the direction of Gelting. After approx. 6 km you turn off in the direction of Maasholm and follow the road until shortly after the exit to Maasholm-Bad. On the right side you will find our holiday home in Exhöft 3 after approx. 300 m, recognisable by a sign with our logo.

Take the train to Süderbrarup and from there take the bus via Kappeln to Exhöft/Maasholm. The bus stop is only a few meters away from our holiday home. Since the bus connections are not coordinated, a car is recommended for your holiday stay with us.

Holiday Destination

The apartment is located in our holiday home in Exhöft, just before Maasholm directly on the banks of the Schlei (20 m), with a fantastic view of the water and direct access to the shore. The garden is protected from view and borders on the Viking Friesian Cycle Path, on which you can explore the beautiful Angeln countryside on foot or by bicycle. On this beautiful path along the Noor you can also reach all shops, restaurants and the lively fishing and marina of Maasholm, from where deep-sea fishing trips are offered. In Hasselberg/Kronsgaard, about 5 kilometres away, sandy beaches invite you to swim in the Baltic Sea, which are easily accessible on foot, by bike or by car. Directly from the house you can walk through a harsh moraine landscape shaped by the Ice Age and reach the harbour after about 5 kilometres. After 2 km you reach the Nature Adventure Centre (NEZ) Maasholm-Oehe-Schleimünde, which was built in the immediate vicinity of the large Oehe-Schleimünde Seabird Sanctuary. Oehe-Schleimünde is an important breeding, resting and wintering area for Nordic migratory birds.

Gelting and Kappeln are ideal for shorter excursions by bicycle or car. Kappeln has developed into the centre of the holiday region and awaits you with a mixture of sights, nice shops and a variety of restaurants. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the city after a stroll through the pedestrian zone or a delicious fish dish directly on the harbour promenade after a walk to the fishing or museum harbour. This is also where the ships depart for trips on the Schlei.

Destinations for day trips are Schleswig, Kiel, Eckernförde, but also Tønder and Sønderborg in Denmark. Further suggestions for leisure activities at Schlei and the Baltic Sea can be found in the holiday apartment.
